Celebrate the one-year-to-go countdown to the Invictus Games at their Unconquered Sports Day on Family Day. The Games are an international adaptive sporting competition set to be hosted in Vancouver and Whistler in 2025. To commemorate the upcoming event, Invictus will host a community engagement event at Seaforth Armoury on February 19 from 10am-4pm.

This important precursor event is the Games’ first community event of this scale and provides an opportunity for anyone interested in the international Invictus community to experience winter adaptive sports ahead of next year’s festivities, which will be the first-ever Winter Hybrid Games in Invictus history. This means that athletes will compete in winter sports such as Alpine skiing, Nordic skiing, and skeleton for the first time.

This free Family Day event (registration required) is open to all ages and abilities. Under the guidance of sports experts, attendees will get to try adaptive sports by rotating through stations, including wheelchair basketball, sitting volleyball, indoor rowing, and wheelchair curling.

Taking place on the Parade Square of the historic Seaforth Armoury, this sports day is a great opportunity to visit the home of the Seaforth Highlanders and tour the grounds throughout the day.

The Invictus Games Vancouver Whistler 2025 will take place from February 8 to 16 of next year. The seventh annual adaptive sporting competition for wounded, injured, and sick service personnel and veterans will bring together up to 550 competitors from up to 25 nations to British Columbia.

Through the uniting power of sport, the Invictus Games aims to inspire recovery, support rehabilitation, and generate a wider understanding and respect for those who have served their country.

On February 12, to mark the one-year countdown, the BC Legislature in Victoria, BC Place Stadium, and the Vancouver Convention Centre were all lit up in yellow. Watch for more yellow lights on February 16 when Vancouver City Hall and the Burrard Street Bridge will also shine bright in celebration.

To reserve your free sport at Unconquered Sports Day, register through Eventbrite.
