Filming in Vancouver: The Terror, Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, Healing Powers of Dude

George Takei stars in The Terror: Infamy

As one show finishes up, another one starts.

That’s usually the norm in Vancouver’s screen scene and such is the case this week.

In fact, one horror TV series is calling it a wrap while another horror series gets started.

But where they differ is that one is set in a historical event while the other is set in a world of witchcraft and teen drama.

Speaking of adolescents, there’s forthcoming series that will shoot its inaugural season here for which there’s very little detail, with the exception of a casting call that is drawing praise from people with disabilities.

Filming in Vancouver: Robbie Amell to star in Upload; George Takei in The Terror

Robbie Amell, cousin of Arrow‘s Stephen Amell, will be in Vancouver filming new TV series Upload.

After the flurry of TV series coming back to work from holiday vacations over the past few weeks, this week is a little quieter.

On a lighter note, another new TV series—a sci-fi comedy that satirizes digital life (and afterlife)—will be setting up shop in town soon.

But what’s more is that it’ll also be starring a relative of an actor who heads up a locally shot TV series that a number of other series are connected to.

Astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson hosts the TV series Cosmos: Possible Worlds.

As summer has turned to autumn, the tone of the shows shooting in Vancouver are turning similarly more serious in tone. Well at any rate, that’s the case for this week.

An X-Files-esque podcast is being turned into a TV series while an acclaimed science series wraps up a local leg of shooting its latest installation—which is only its third in over three decades, believe it or not.

Meanwhile, on the horizon is a horror anthology series that will be set during a dark period in U.S. history: the internment of Japanese Americans during the Second World War.

Here’s a quick look at what’s happening in Vancouver’s screen scene this week and in the weeks to come.
