The Vancouver International Mountain Film Festival (VIMFF) is a Vancouver tradition, screening dozens of films each November and February. For the first time, VIMFF’s Fall Series is an online event, streaming from November 20th to 29th. It includes over 20 films and live presentations about rock climbing, skiing, and outdoor adventures spread across five shows.

Every February since 1998, outdoorsy Vancouverites have flocked to the theatres to take in a slate of adventure flicks at the Vancouver International Mountain Film Festival. Known as VIMFF to locals, 2020’s festival runs February 21st to March 1st. It includes 70 films, 3 workshops, and 28 speakers at 35 separate events spread over 10 different Vancouver-area venues. Buy tickets online at the VIMFF website, as shows sell out fast.

Skiing, Mountain Biking and Rock Climbing: What to See at the Vancouver International Mountain Film Festival Fall Series

Vancouver is an outdoorsy town. Both locals and visitors love the easy access to hiking, mountain biking, skiing, rock climbing and more. So it’s no surprise that Vancouver has it’s very own mountain film festival: the Vancouver International Mountain Film Festival (VIMFF). It’s a great way to spend a cozy evening indoors watching inspiring films and listening to accomplished speakers. 

The main festival runs every February, but Vancouverites couldn’t get enough, so there is an annual Fall Speaker series as well. This year, the series runs from November 14th to 18th at the Rio Theatre in Vancouver and the Centennial Theatre in North Vancouver. There are four separate shows.

She Summits community festival features inspiring films and events with a female focus

Vancouver is one of those special cities in the world that is an adventure lover’s paradise. Surrounded by mountains, oceans, streams, and trails, there is no shortage of high-paced outdoor activities.

From April 5 – 7th in North Vancouver, a community festival is being hosted in town to inspire and empower adventurers through female-focused adventure films, sport clinics, and special events.

She Summits is for skiers, snowboarders, surfers, rock climbers, runners, paddleboarders, and athletes of all kind, with films and events featuring incredible women around the world.

The event will feature some amazing special guests including climbing legend, Lynn Hill, and Mathea Olin (one of the world’s best female surfers who’s only 16 years old).
