End this epic snowboard and ski season with a splash! This April 2, Red Bull Slopesoakers will be making its Canadian Debut at Grouse Mountain Resort. The event is a hybrid of slopestyle and pondskim, which is sort of like waterskiing but without the boat… or rope…

It’s a very unique contest and fun for spectators and competitors alike, and just like Sea World – there will probably be a splash zone.

Past events of the iconic season-ending party have included jumps and rails over a pool of water. It’s fun to see everyone doing successful tricks, but it’s even more fun to see them fall!

Anyone (with slopestyle skill) is invited to join the competition in both ski and snowboard categories and is open to anyone over 16 who wants to test the waters. Multiple ponds and features will ensure that this contest is fun, challenging and true to its name… with the likelihood of getting soaked.

And what would a year end party be without some fun, springtime festivities? Spectators can cheer on their favourite supersoaked-dude on the sidelines where there will be an on-slope BBQ and beer garden. Open to all to join in on the action!

Registration for the event is already sold out, so you know this is going to be an epic time. If you’re interested in watching amazing tricks and people getting soaked… check out the Grouse Mountain website for more details about the Canadian debut of the event on Saturday, April 2, 2016.

If you’re not quite ready to end the ski and snowboard season, don’t worry – the season will likely keep going until the end of April – if mother nature keeps stalling on the warm, spring season!
