Here is the 2016 Vancouver outdoor movies in Stanley Park official schedule for your reference. Attend one or attend them all!

Tuesday, July 5 – The Outsiders

You might remember this movie from your 8th grade English class. In dusty 1960s Oklahoma, the rivalry between two gangs, the poor Greasers and the rich Socs, only heats up when one gang member kills a member of the other. It’s Big Drama with small perfect moments wrapped in a sweepingly romantic old-Hollywood feel: a modern-day classic for those of a certain generation. Stay gold, Ponyboy.

Tuesday, July 12 – Napolean Dynamite

This indie cult hit stars Jon Heder in his breakout performance as a listless and alienated teenager who decides to help his new friend (Efren Ramirez) win the class presidency in their small western high school, while he must deal with his bizarre family life back home. Quirky, original, even oddly inspiring – but just a whole lot of irony-steeped fun. Vote for Pedro!
RSVP to the Facebook Event Page.

Tuesday, July 19 – The Little Mermaid

Everything’s better… next to the sea! Your favourite slumber party VHS movie comes to the Stanley Park big screen for the first time – it’s the magic and the music of Disney’s charming The Little Mermaid! Come relive some childhood memories or start some new ones with this adorable, perennial classic.

Tuesday, July 26 – TBA

TBA? Never heard of that movie… Just kidding, this movie is still to be announced.

Tuesday, August 2 – Star Wars: The Force Awakens

This is the first time a Star Wars movie has been played outdoors anywhere in Canada, so this is a big moment for Vancouver! In this invigorating mix of exciting sci-fi action, engaging new characters and a dollop of wistful childhood nostalgia. Three decades after the JEDI returned and the good guys defeated the Galactic Empire, a new threat arises…
RSVP to the Facebook Event Page.

Tuesday, August 9 – Labyrinth (David Bowie Night)

Costumes, highly encouraged! One of the weirdest movies in cinematic history, this David Bowie classic is a highly-imaginative story about a selfish 16 year old girl who is given 13 hours to solve a labyrinth and rescue her baby brother before he’s taken away by the goblin king. There will also be pre-show Bowie music videos screening to celebrate the remarkable talent of this amazing superstar.
RSVP to the Facebook Event Page.

Tuesday, August 16 – Purple Rain (Prince Night)

Dearly beloved, we are gathered here in celebration of 1 of the most electric, energetic and eccentric musicians ever 2 tear up a movie screen: we’re pleased 2 see Prince’s first feature film outdoors in Stanley Park 4 the first time ever. The many concert sequences here are truly mesmerizing. Come get the funk out with a jukebox selection of Prince videos on our big screen before the show.
RSVP to the Facebook Event Page.

Tuesday, August 23 – Dirty Dancing

Frances “Baby” Houseman (Jennifer Gray) falls in love with the camp’s hunky dance instructor, Johnny Castle (Patrick Swayze). You know what happens next… some life lessons learned and a lot of Dirty Dancing, of course! Come have the time of your life one last time this summer in Stanley Park – but remember: no one puts Baby in a corner. So don’t do that.
RSVP to the Facebook Event Page.

We can hardly wait until July! If this is your first outdoor movie experience, don’t forget to arrive early for a good seat and bring a lot of extra blankets. It gets cold and dewy at night, so be prepared!
