If North Vancouver is looking brighter these days, it might be because the extremely popular Canyon Lights Winter Festival is back on at the Capilano Suspension Bridge! This annual event is a favourite for many with hundreds of thousands of lights decorating the park.

The suspension bridge, Treetops Adventure, Cliffwalk, the rainforest and canyon are transformed into a world of festive lights and visual enchantment. Canyon Lights runs until Sunday, January 28, 2018 – so there’s plenty of time left to check out the dazzling display!

There are lots of festive light displays in Vancouver this year (e.g. Lights at Lafarge), but none that combine the sparkling beauty of christmas lights, with the terrifying heights from the suspension bridge and the Cliffwalk! It’s time to get over your fear of heights, because this is one light display you’re not going to want to miss.

This year, the park will be giving star treatment to the 30-ton Douglas first of Treetops Adventure. This part of the park features a series of seven suspension bridges attached to eight 250-year-old Douglas Fir trees with viewing platforms, reaching up to 110 feet above the forest floor. You’ll feel like an Ewok exploring these platforms! These magnificent Douglas firs will be lit above and below the collars, making these trees the eight tallest Christmas trees in the world!

If you’re feeling extra adventurous, don’t forget to check out the Cliffwalk – a narrow pathway with a partially glass floor suspended over the Canyon – it’s lit up too!

Back by popular demand, guests are invited to go on a Snowy Owl Prowl, decorate gingerbread cookies (by donation)  and sing-along carols with the holiday band.  Two new children’s activities this year include decorating wooden ornaments and make your own holiday badge (by donation) in the Winter Craft Tent.

For the easiest way to get to the park, there will be a free shuttle operating from Canada Place to the Suspension Bridge every 15-30 minutes between 10:30am and 9:00pm during the duration of Canyon Lights.
