What better excuse to crawl out of winter hibernation than a wine, beer, spirits and tapas tasting party whose proceeds are donated to a charitable cause? On January 11, Taste BC returns to the Pan Pacific Hotel for a palate-pleasing evening that brings together people and flavours from across the province, all in support of BC Children’s Hospital Foundation.
Top vintners, brewers, distillers and chefs from around B.C. travel to Vancouver annually to share their products at this lively tasting frenzy. Attendees are free to sample tasty libations at their leisure while grooving to live music, bidding on silent auction items, and entering to win door prizes gifted by donors like the BC Lions, Pacific Surf Co, The Wickanninish Inn and more. To date, Taste BC has raised $233,910 for BC Children’s Hospital’s Oak Tree Clinic – and this year, organizers aim to raise more money than ever before.
At the 2018 event, guests can taste products from more than 50 wineries, breweries and distilleries, including Blasted Church Wines, Steel & Oak Brewing Co., Liquidity Winery, The Liberty Distillery and Tugwell Creek Honey Farm & Meadery. Afterward, everyone is invited to vote for their favourite wine, beer, spirit, cider and food. Meanwhile, a panel of judges made up of industry professionals will award gold, silver and bronze medals to the event’s best pours.
Taste BC takes place at the Pan Pacific Hotel on January 11, between 4.30pm and 7.30pm. Tickets cost $49.99, and are on sale now at all Liberty Wine Merchants locations. Happy imbibing!
