Stalking Big Cats at the Orpheum Theatre

National Geographic Live’s speaker series at the Orpheum Theatre continues with “On the Trail of the Big Cats”, a thrilling evening involving a trek up the Himalayan mountains, through Latin American jungles and to other global hideaways of big cats – all told through stunning photography.

Presented by acclaimed photojournalist Steve Winter – whose live shows about big cats regularly sell out venues worldwide – this second instalment of National Geographic Live’s speaker series is much more than a mere slideshow. Throughout the evening, Winter captivates his audience with tales of narrow misses, rhino attacks, and getting stuck in quicksand. Underlying every story is his obvious passion for sharing these majestic felines with the world while promoting conservation efforts and trying to halt their journey toward extinction.

Winter is a wildlife photojournalist specializing in big cats, and has contributed to National Geographic since 1991. He is responsible for some of the most iconic wildlife photographs seen today, including “Hollywood Cougar”. Winter has been named BBC Wildlife Photographer of the Year and BBC Wildlife Photojournalist of the Year. He is also the two-time winner of Picture of the Year International’s Global Visit Award, and placed first in the “Nature Story” category at World Press Photo.

“On the Trail of the Big Cats” takes place at the Orpheum Theatre on February 27, beginning at 7pm. Tickets start at $45. For more information, click here.
