For foodies in Vancouver, Friday nights in the summer are all about the North Vancouver Shipyards Night Market.

With over 40 food trucks flanking the oceanfront pier, it is no mystery why the Shipyards Night Market has fast become one of the most popular summer activities in Vancouver.

To celebrate the fast-approaching opening date of the market, we’re listing a few of our favourite things to discover. Check out the list below!

When: Friday Nights 5-10pm – May 3 to September 27, 2019
Where: The Shipyards District in North Vancouver

1. The food

This one is pretty obvious. The food at the North Shore Shipyards Friday Night Market is above and beyond. For the uninitiated, do not come to the market on a full stomach. You’re going to want to be famished for this food fest.

You can expect culinary creations from across the globe, sweet treats, and savoury surprises. Think: kettle corn, gelato, cannoli, crepes, Slavic rolls and many more stalls filled with baked goods and handmade sweets.

2. The location

The Shipyards Night Market is located right in the heart of Lonsdale in North Vancouver. Just a quick walk away from the Seabus terminal, it’s incredibly easy to get to from Downtown Vancouver.

Not only is it easily accessible, but the Friday Night Market also has one heck of a view. On a sunny, summer night you can spend hours sitting on the pier, admiring the sunset over Vancouver and Stanley Park with a piping hot plate of poutine on your lap. Delectable!

3. The dogs

Good dogs are allowed at the Shipyards Night Market. So, if you’re a fan of doggies there will be lots of fluffy fidos to pet. If you have a dog that is not intimidated by crowds (it gets busy down there), don’t forget to bring them along!

4. The live music & beer garden

For the 19+ crowd, the Friday Night Market includes a beer garden serving local craft beer and cider as well as Betty’s Vodka Iced Tea. For a little live music with your libations, there are also performers on the Shipbuilders’ Stage until 10 pm each Friday, showcasing talent from all over BC.

5. The artisan market

So, not only do you have amazing food, local craft beer, live music, and dogs but to round it all off, you’ve got some outstanding shopping at the artisan market.

The Shipyards Night Market believes in a local lifestyle, showcasing BC’s artisans, bakers and farmers. Products include; jewellery, clothing, kids wear, bakers, produce, preserves, soaps, plants, chocolate and many more that must have handmade products.

Safe to say, we can’t wait until May 3!

The Shipyards are located just east of the Seabus and the Lonsdale Quay at the foot of Lonsdale Avenue in North Vancouver.
