Now that the warmer weather has really started in Vancouver, everyone’s looking for the best places to cool down. Luckily, this weekend marks the opening weekend of the much-loved Kitsilano outdoor pool (more commonly known as Kits Pool).

Just in time for the May long weekend, the pool will be officially opening to the public on Saturday, May 18.

Kits Pool was once ranked by Red Bull as the “third sexiest pool in the world” for good reason! It’s easily one of the best places to spend a summer day or evening, lounging poolside by the ocean.

Did you know? The Kits pool is Vancouver’s only saltwater swimming pool and is the longest pool in North America at 137 metres long.

From May 18 to June 10, the hours of operation are noon to 8:30 pm, Monday to Friday and 9 am to 8:30 pm on weekends. After June 10, the pool will be open for extended hours. Full details are available on the Vancouver Parks website.

Kits pool is a favourite among those who love long lap swimming and kids who love to splash. The pool also features a water park, two slides, a cafe and lockers (25¢).

The pool is located at 2305 Cornwall Ave, easily accessible by bike, transit, or car. Entry is $6.10 for adults, $4.27 for youth, and $3.05 for children.
