Watch a livestream of the Cultch’s MINE tonight and tomorrow!

While theatre has effectively shut down, the Cultch is going on with the show—or at least, a live stream of the show.

Originally scheduled for March 18-22 at the Cultch Historic Theatre in East Vancouver, MINE is an exploration of gaming from the perspective of mother/son relationships. The Cultch is streaming the show again (the first live stream was last night, March 19) tonight and tomorrow. Find out more about the show and how/where to watch below.

Inspired by Theatre Replacement’s artistic director Maiko Yamamoto’s relationship with her 12-year-old son, MINE features a group of gamer/performers aged 11 to 47 enacting different mother-son narratives—from Bambi, to The Terminator, to the Beowulf saga, all using the video game Minecraft. MINE is described as an “intergenerational performance that both interrogates and recognizes the role technology plays in our modern parent-child relationships.”

The Cultch is live streaming performances of the show tonight, Friday March 20 at 7 p.m., and Saturday, March 21, at 2 p.m. Visit Theatre Replacement’s Facebook page or its Twitch channel to watch.
