On these after-dark adventures you will follow easy snowshoe trails through a forest brightly lit with LED lights. Grouse Mountain’s Light Walk starts with a walk through a glowing light tunnel, then takes you past a pond. At Cypress Mountain, the Lights to the Lodge experience includes a break at the historic Hollyburn Lodge to enjoy a snack or hot drink.

Snowshoe to a Frozen Waterfall at Callaghan Country

Each winter 55-metre-tall Alexander Falls freezes into a gorgeous ice sculpture and you can snowshoe right to the base. Head to Callaghan Country next to the Whistler Olympic Park and buy a pass for their self-guided snowshoe trails. The route to Alexander Falls is short but steep, so it’s best for intermediate and experienced snowshoers.

Challenge Yourself on the Snowshoe Grind at Grouse Mountain

In the summer, hikers tackle the steep Grouse Grind trail from the base of the mountain to the peak. In the winter, Grouse Mountain offers the Snowshoe Grind, a tough 4.3 km  snowshoe trail that leads from the lodge to a viewpoint above the ski hill. Participants often time themselves to see if they can complete the course in less than an hour.

Snowshoe By Headlamp at the Sea to Sky Gondola, Grouse Mountain, or Mount Seymour

Strap on some snowshoes and a headlamp, then follow your guide through the snowy forest. Book your tour during the full moon to let the moon light up the trail.
