Princess Leia, Captain Kirk and, uhm, Brenda Walsh will be among the guests at this year’s Vancouver Fan Expo. And for the first time, it will be the real – or at least, original – versions of Leia and Kirk, and not people in costumes. (We’re not sure if anyone’s turned up in the guise of Beverley Hills 90210’s Brenda Walsh, but probably.)

Hot Art Wet City presents Process Colour

Process Colour

As art exhibit titles go, “Process Colour” is a little too technical to be alluring.

However, with work by local comics artists Tony Cliff, Rebecca Dart, Simon Roy, and Brandon Graham, the Hot Art Wet City Gallery show promises to be an exciting one for graphic arts fans.

Beginning this Wednesday (Aug 14) and running until Aug. 30, Hot Art Wet City Gallery (2206 Main Street) will exhibit this showcase the work of local independent comic creators. The work will be presented in various stages so as to offer glimpses into their artistic/production processes in getting from idea to finished product. There’s also an opening reception on Aug. 16 (Friday) at the gallery. Artists Rebecca Dart, Simon Roy, Tony Cliff and Brandon Graham will be in attendance. Continue reading:
