Libations lovers, rejoice: Hopscotch Festival sweeps over the city on Monday, November 20, bringing with it seven days and nights of enticing tipples and prime pours. Whether a sampling free-for-all at the Grand Tasting Hall or an intimate whiskey masterclass, the event shines a spotlight on spirits from around the world for scotch, craft beer, cider, wine, cocktail and spirits aficionados and newbies alike.

Red Truck Brewing announces summer 2017 concert series

Soul man Lee Fields and Australian electronica act Cut/Copy are two of the headliners that Red Truck Brewing (295 E. 1st Ave.) has scored for its 2017 summer concert series.

For the third year in a row, the East Van brewery is turning its parking lot into a concert ground. The Red Truck Brewery Concert Series features two stages, a main stage and a smaller stage. The series is comprised of three concerts of six acts each. Here’s a look at each show.

South American-themed East Vancouver brewery opens just in time to fight the winter blahs

East Vancouver just got a little yeastier.

The neighbourhood is already craft beer central, with local breweries like Strange Fellows, Storm, Bomber, Off the Rail, Luppolo, and Parallel 49 bringing beer enthusiasts to the area. Andina Brewing Company (pronounced “an-DEEN-a”) is the latest addition, and has opened up just a hops skip and jump from three other breweries – Callister, Powell Street Craft and Doan Brewing. The twist: Andina adds South American style, flair and flavours.

Queers & Beers: An LGBTQ+ Hang-Out for the Rest of Us, Sep. 18

Remember that Gandhi saying about being the change you want to see in the world? You might not think it at first, but Vancouver’s Queers and Beers is inspired by just that sort of logic. It’s a seasonal event held every 3-4 months and just like the awesome name implies, it’s a hang-out party for LGBTQ+ folks focused on local craft beer tasting.

Say ‘hi’ to Vancouver’s latest craft brewery!

Vancouver’s newest craft brewery, is now officially open for business. Located at 1830 Ontario St., Faculty Brewing Co. opened its doors to the general public Aug 2. First beers include a blonde, a mint heffe (a minzeweizen, a milky wheat beer brewed with peppermint tea), a pale ale made with Chinook hops, and a dry-oaked stout.
