10-Day Celtic-Themed Fest Returns to Vancouver

Lot’s of cities have a parade for St. Patrick’s Day.  Vancouver has 10 days of  Celtic-themed parties, markets and concerts.

CelticFest returns to Vancouver, March 7-March 17, with a packed lineup of familiar and new events where you can wear your green with pride. The festival kicks off Saturday, March 7, with a tribute to the great Celtic punk rockers The Pogues at the Imperial theatre on Main Street. Some of Vancouver’s top bands perform covers from the Pogues’ epic 30-year catalogue.

Festivities continue on Wednesday, March 11, with a pair of whisky-themed events at The Belmont club on Granville Street.   Continue reading:

Lineup for Vancouver’s Late-Night Street Food and Beer Fest – Street Eats and Beats, Feb 22-23

I hope you’re hungry and thirsty.

On the nights of Feb. 22 and Feb. 23, Vancouver’s Granville Island will be transformed into Street Eats and Beats, an outdoor street food fest featuring local beer and wine, not to mention live music.

Six food trucks will be on hand, plus a slew of local DJs and performers, creating a festive, beer-garden atmosphere directly underneath the Granville Street bridge.  The event is part of Winterruption – the weekend-long music, art and food fest on Granville Island.

Tickets (available online for $30 and selling fast) get you six street food samples, plus two drinks.  Here’s what’s on the menu:
