That means, for exactly $0 you can have access to live music concerts from headliners K-OS, Yukon Blonde, and Jill Barber, along with family-friendly activities including circus workshops, face painting, arts & crafts projects, and a whole lot more. Plus, you’ll also get the chance to see world-class Dragon Boat racers showcase the pinnacle of the sport in action-packed races.

The Concord Pacific Dragon Boat Festival will be taking place from June 21 – 23, 2019 in False Creek near Science World and is free to get in.

This weekend, several neighbourhoods in Vancouver will be going car-free to host some sensational community events.

Can you imagine Main Street in East Vancouver free of cars? How about Denman Street in the West End? Seems impossible, right? Not during the Car Free Vancouver festivals, which kick off this weekend in three neighbourhoods across the city. The festival will transform major streets into a family-friendly and pedestrian-only space with entertainment, food, live performances, and a whole lot more.

The festivals will be taking place along Main Street, Denman Street, and in the Kitsilano neighbourhood. There will also be a celebration on Commercial Drive, but in July. Here’s what’s going down for car free day(s) in Vancouver:

Velopalooza Offers Up Two Weeks of Community Organized Bike Rides

If you haven’t already noticed, Vancouver is a very bike-friendly city. So much so that in June, a huge bike festival is organized with 80+ events to promote cycling and bring like-minded people together. Velopalooza, the Vancouver Festival of Bikes, starts today and runs until June 28th, bringing you two weeks of fun, friendly bike rides.

Velopalooza was first started in 2010 based on the much-loved Pedalpalooza in Portland. Organizers were inspired by the community-driven bike fun of the Portland festival, and decided to bring it over the border to Vancouver.

The Velopalooza biking festival has grown since its early roots in 2010 and now features tons of rides and tons of participants! The list of 85 events is a bit overwhelming, so we’ve listed 5 of the most interesting events of the festival below:
