Boasting a rich shipbuilding history, the neighbourhood’s Shipyards District has blossomed into a hub of independent shops, restaurants and breweries, and specialty food shops. Lower Lonsdale is a scenic 12-minute Seabus ride from downtown; once visitors reach the dock, they’ll find plenty to keep them occupied.

One of my favourite things about living in Vancouver is how you can get anywhere in the city, and to some great day trip places, via public transit. There isn’t really any need to drive anywhere. Which is just as well because driving in any city can be a bit of a pain!

I’ve been taking Vancouver’s public transit all my life and I’ve got the TransLink routes locked down. While I’m always a firm believer of walking everywhere, sometimes you need to hop on the train.
