Science World Celebrates 30 Years on May 6

Science World’s iconic geodesic dome opened its doors on May 6, 1989, dazzling visitors with dozens of hands-on exhibits and the largest OMNIMAX screen in the world. Now, 30 years later, Science World is celebrating its birthday with several public events, including an ambitious attempt by staff to complete 30 science experiments in five minutes (!).

3D Me, Baby

Science World at Telus World of Science is not just for kids!

Without a major exhibit showing and with major renovations underway, Science World is still a great way for moms and dads to get a break and wear out the younger kids with hands-on activities across three floors of displays. A favourite for our group was the ‘Origami for Japan’ fundraiser, where thousands of cranes were being folded to be sent to the stricken areas in the northern part of the country.
