New York has PS1. In Calgary, it’s Sled Island. And in Montreal, there’s Pop Montreal: Meticulously curated festivals that celebrate all forms of artistic expressions in an allotted amount of time, so that culture cravers have something to look forward to all year round. Or simpler terms, really hip parties that draw big crowds of attractive people.  And don’t for a second think that we don’t have an equivalent here in Vancouver.

Comedy cheerleaders, let’s make some noise. I CAN’T HEAR YOU!

This city’s top comedic talent has crowded the nominations at the upcoming Canadian Comedy Awards, which take place next week in Toronto. While the award show is notorious for focusing on acts based in central Canada (read: Toronto), Vancouver’s contenders this year are pretty darn strong. Let’s review.
