Fond memories swirl in the minds of local parents who visit Splashdown Park with their kids this Summer. Watching as their little splashers whoosh down the winding watersides and twirl in tubes down the River Run, nostalgic flashbacks of early childhood days flood their thoughts.

Since 1983, Splashdown Waterpark has been a local Summer staple, epitomizing childhood fun for kids and parents alike. Unfortunately, after 33 years, Greater Vancouver’s favourite (and only) waterslide park will be closing its doors permanently at the end of this Summer.

YVR Take-Off Fridays Offer Free Family Fun at the Airport

With a soggy forecast for the next few days, indoor events are all the rage! Luckily, the very popular YVR Take-Off Fridays event is back for the 7th annual summer celebration starting tomorrow, July 8, 2016.

Recently voted the best airport in all of North America, you don’t need any other excuse to spend an afternoon at the airport! Each Friday, from July 8 to August 26, the terminal will be transformed to a family-friendly fun zone with music, entertainment, and lots of free activities.

Earlier this week we posted about some of the big-stage highlights of this year’s Vancouver International Jazz Festival. In this post, we’re going to look at some of the smaller shows worth checking out.

Keep in mind, there are dozens of shows taking place as part of the festival, which runs June 24 – July 3, and these five are just a small sampling of the local and international artists coming to town for one of the country’s most acclaimed celebrations of all things jazz, and beyond.
