There are a lot of amazing events in Vancouver during the long, hot days of the summer. But, the quintessential event has got to be the annual Celebration of Light fireworks event that happens just three nights in July and August (July 27, July 31, and August 3).

The first night of fireworks is fast approaching and to make sure you have an excellent time, we’re outlined five top tips for the best experience.

Top 5 Places to Watch the Celebration of Light Fireworks in Vancouver

The Honda Celebration of Light is far and beyond one of the most spectacular events of the summer in Vancouver. Three exciting nights full of music, entertainment and a fireworks show that thousands of spectators flock to see each year.

For 2018, the fireworks will take place on July 28, August 1 and August 4 with teams from South Africa, Sweden, and South Korea competing to light up the night sky with dazzling displays. New this year – the Honda Celebration of Light invited the public to vote on a theme for this year’s fireworks competition. “Love” was selected by an overwhelming majority.

If you’re hoping to find the best seat for the show, there are plenty of options to watch the fireworks from near and afar. Check out the list below for some of the top spots to take in the must-see event of the summer.

Vancouver Fireworks Schedule Announced for Summer of 2015

Not only is the Honda Celebration of Light the biggest event of the summer, it’s also BC’s biggest outdoor event that is free to watch! 2015 is the 25th year that the fireworks have been lighting up English Bay and to celebrate, this year is going to be huge.

The details of the 2015 Vancouver Fireworks Celebration of Light were announced recently, and this year Canada is coming back to enter the competition. In addition, along with the firework show, there will also be live performances, an Urban Adventure seawall challenge, and two new areas for prime viewing opportunities.

For three nights in the summer, the sky of Vancouver is lit up with a fantastic, jaw-dropping spectacle of light and fire when the annual Celebration of Light fireworks appear in English Bay starting on July 26.

There’s nothing quite like the Celebration of Light in Vancouver, with the community getting together to enjoy live music, food carts galore, and an epic light show taking over the sky.

Sultry August is your last chance to have that fling with summer fun, before it’s too late.

With the August long weekend, dazzling Celebration of Light fireworks and the fabulous annual Vancouver Pride Parade, there are plenty of good reasons to get out and celebrate.

Outdoor entertainment continues through August before disappearing until next summer. Catch a free cult-fave film at Second Beach or David Lam Park in Yaletown. Take in some twilight, beachfront Shakespeare at Bard on the Beach. Bring the family to the much loved Theatre Under the Stars (TUTS) musicals in Malkin Bowl at Stanley Park.

For festival fiends, there’s no shortage of cost-free opportunity. Start with the Sunset Beach Pride Festival with beer garden. Don’t miss Veg Fest Vancouver, the Japanese Canadian Powell Street Festival, the Vancouver Chinatown Festival or Latin Summer Fest at Trout Lake.
