Need fresh? Vancouver’s Winter Farmers Markets Set to Open

Nothing says winter like … farm-fresh fruits, veggies, meats and more.

Just as the days are getting shorter and the cold is creeping in, two of Vancouver’s unique winter farmers markets are set to open this month. For locavores, the markets offer a one-of-a-kind chance to stay stocked with fresh-from-the-farm goodness all through the long Vancouver winter (er … rainy) season.

A local institution, the Nat Bailey winter market at Nat Bailey Stadium opens shop on Nov. 7.  Each Saturday through April 23, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m., dozens of vendors from throughout the region come together to offer everything from fresh leafy greens to local cheeses and artisan meats – all outdoors in the parking lot next to the historic stadium in the leafy Riley Park neighbourhood.  Continue reading:
