Inside the Orpheum Theatre

Built in 1927 and designated a National Heritage Site, Vancouver’s historic Orpheum Theatre is one of the city’s great landmarks. Home to the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra, Vancouver Bach Choir, and Vancouver Chamber Choir, the Orpheum is also one of North America’s finest concert halls. And this summer you can peak “behind the curtain” with insider Orpheum Tours 2012 in July and August.

Conducted by the BC Entertainment Hall of Fame and timed to celebrate the Orpheum’s 85th anniversary (!), the Orpheum Tours are a chance for the public to explore the theatre from top to bottom (literally) and learn more about its storied history.

Tour the Orpheum & Help BC Entertainment Hall of Fame

Vancouver's historic Orpheum Theatre

Vancouver’s magnificent Orpheum Theatre is one of North America’s finest concert halls. Built in 1927, the Orpheum is a designated National Heritage Site, home to the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra, Vancouver Bach Choir, and Vancouver Chamber Choir, and one of the main reasons downtown Granville Street is dubbed “Theatre Row.”

In July and August, the BC Entertainment Hall of Fame is offering tours of the Orpheum to the general public; it’s a great chance to peak inside this Vancouver landmark and learn more about its storied history. More than that, it’s an opportunity to contribute to the BC Entertainment Hall of Fame: all proceeds from the tours go to the Hall of Fame’s mission to honour British Columbians who have “excelled in all disciplines of entertainment” and to add “stars” to Vancouver’s own “starwalk” on Granville Street (Γ  la the famous Hollywood Walk of Fame).
