Contest Alert! The 12 Productions of Christmas, Day 2: I’ll Be Home for Christmas

Roll through a magical forest at Bright Nights in Stanley Park.

Contest alert! It’s day two of The 12 Productions of Christmas. Enter for your chance to win today’s prize!

The production  ‘90s teen heartthrob Jonathan Taylor Thomas stars in I’ll Be Home for Christmas, a coast-to-coast adventure that follows the trials and tribulations of a broke college student stranded in the desert thousands of miles from home. Producers selected Vancouver to play stunt double for California, New York, Nebraska and Wisconsin with filming taking place all over the region to emulate key distinctions between the U.S.’s East and West coasts. Fort Langley is featured in a memorable scene where a sea of Santa Claus’s run a 5K marathon, and Richmond’s Fantasy Gardens is recognizable as the exterior of the Strudelstrasse Inn. Filming also took place in Shaughnessy, Cloverdale and North Vancouver.

The attraction  I’ll Be Home for Christmas centres around the importance of being with family during the holidays, so take heed and treat your clan to an evening at Bright Nights Train in Stanley Park (November 30 to January 6). Departing from the Train Plaza, which sparkles with three million twinkling lights, the train winds throughout the forest past stunning holiday displays amplified by live performances and even a visit from the Big Man himself. A portion of ticket sales goes to the BC Professional Firefighters’ Burn Fund.

Comment on this post with your favourite holiday tradition and you’ll be automatically entered to win one of two family ticket packages to Bright Nights Train in Stanley Park (each valid for up to four guests; must be redeemed before December 7).

*The winner will be chosen in the next three days, and will be contacted via email.

UPDATE: Thank you, everyone, for your thoughtful comments. We have selected our two winners, Lynn Hassan and Jamie Haff. Congratulations!

Don’t forget to check back each weekday morning through December 12 as The 12 Productions of Christmas continues!

Our favorite holiday traditions were to enjoy as many attractions in Vancouver as possible…it was about just being together. We did the lights at Stanley Park…the gingerbread houses…Capilano…even the Christmas floor at the Bay downtown. Even when money was tight…I always made Christmas magical for my son. Now he is grown up and living in Ontario…but I will still enjoy these special places.
