Two Phenomenal Ways to Tour Vancouver’s Stanley Park This Fall

The world-renowned Stanley Park, the city’s urban forest escape, is particularly lovely at this time of year with the changing leaves and crisp autumn air.

While strolling and biking on the seawall are always lovely options, if you’d rather sit back and relax while you take in the scenery and views, there are two excellent alternatives available:

The Teahouse’s Stanley Park Tour & Three-Course Package

The Teahouse in Stanley Park (Ferguson Point, Stanley Park), four decades strong, has recently launched a new service for parties of two to four people. The Stanley Park Tour & Three-Course Package begins with you being picked up from a downtown location (like your hotel) in a luxury town car and then given a one-hour private tour around the Park, showcasing its many sights, like Prospect Point, Lost Lagoon, and Siwash Rock.

After the tour, you’ll return to The Teahouse for a delicious three-course dinner, beginning with a choice between a green salad with mixed greens, cherry tomatoes, carrots, radishes, and sherry vinaigrette; carrot soup with coriander crème fraîche; and their crowd favourite mushroom caps stuffed with crab, shrimp, and cream cheese.

Next up will be the main course with four excellent options: wild mushroom ravioli with arugula, pesto, and pine nuts (the vegetarian option); BC salmon with herbed wild rice, lemon caper sauce, and market vegetables; sablefish with market vegetables, roasted fingerling potatoes, and citrus beurre blanc; and a 7 oz. grass-fed beef tenderloin with pomme frites, roasted tomato, and broccolini.

And, of course, last but not least is dessert, which will consist of a choice between chocolate Milano cake, crème brûlée, and a lemon tart.

The package is $130 per person (plus tax and gratuity) for groups of two and $100 per person (plus tax and gratuity) for groups of four. It’s subject to availability. Call 604-669-3281 or email teahouseevents@vancouverdine.com to book.

Stanley Park Horse-Drawn Tours

A magically old-fashioned way to tour around the Park are the Stanley Park Horse-Drawn Tours (735 Stanley Park Drive), which run daily until November 11, 2019 (returning again March 1, 2020). This one-hour tour departs every 20-30 minutes starting at 9:40am, with the last departure of the day at 4pm. A guide riding with you on the tour will give you info on the sights, such as Deadman’s Island, and there’ll be stops at various popular places, like the Rose Garden and the iconic totem poles in the Park.

Tickets are $50 per adult, $46 for seniors and students, and $22 for kids 3-12 years old. No reservations are required. More info is available on-line.
