As with everything in 2020, Thanksgiving is looking a little different this year. But that doesn’t mean we can’t eat well or support our local restaurants this October holiday long weekend. From dine-in to takeout and just the fixings to full oven-ready meals, Vancouver restaurants have got you covered for an abundant Thanksgiving feast.

The Irish Heather

The Irish Heather’s 13-year tradition of packing a communal long table for Thanksgiving dinner obviously won’t be taking place this year, but they will still accept reservations over the long weekend, seating groups of up to six people at safely- distanced tables. At home meal kits for Thanksgiving at Belgard Kitchen in Vancouver

Railtown’s Belgard Kitchen has pivoted their annual Thanksgiving feast by offering At Home Meal Kits. They will also serve a dine-in Thanksgiving Feature Menu for the weekend of October 10th to 12th for small groups. Inspired by previous years’ “Orphan’s Thanksgiving” menus, the kits require minimal kit-to-table preparation and are priced at $65 (serves two adults). Notch8 at the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver

Notch8 at the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver will offer limited seating for dine-in on Thanksgiving weekend. Alternatively, you can order their turkey-to-go package. The $499 bundle accommodates 10 people (or six, plus leftovers!) — complete with a Fraser Valley slow-roasted turkey with all the fixings and a house-made dessert. Order or find out more info here.

Honey Salt at Parq Vancouver is offering both dine-in and take-home dinner options this year. The takeout Thanksgiving Family Dinner serves 6+ and comes with a 13lb roasted turkey, stuffing, hot sides, cranberry orange biscuits and a whole pumpkin pie for $234 plus tax. The Acorn

Local vegetarian hot spot The Acorn brings their super-popular “Everything but the Bird” dinner menu for 2020, with seating offered for October 11th and 12th. The special menu will consist of everything Vancouverites have come to expect on Thanksgiving, done in spectacularly creative Acorn fashion. Dinner is $49 per person and limited seats are available — book your table now!

This Thanksgiving, Nuba is offering all the sides you need to complete your Thanksgiving feast. Options include onion walnut bread stuffing, zhatar Brussels sprouts, pomegranate braised carrots, mashed parsnip, pear and feta arugula salad, and roasted sweet potatoes with yam and pumpkin. (Enough food to feed a family of four! ) To order, call your nearest location before 6 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 9, and pick-up from Oct. 10 to Oct. 12.

Things to keep in mind this Thanksgiving at restaurants:

 

  • Plan ahead — make sure you get a table for the time you want by making a reservation.
  • Restaurant staff are working hard in a “new normal” — remember to leave a good tip!
  • Respect the policies of establishments you visit
  • Wash or sanitize your hands often and well
