8 Ways to Celebrate Earth Day in Vancouver

Vancouver is a fantastic place to live, work, and play, but it needs help for our city to continue thriving. Earth Day is a chance to reflect on our relationship with Mother Nature and do our parts to preserve and protect our health, our families, and our livelihoods.

More than a billion people celebrate Earth Day to protect the planet from things like pollution and deforestation. By taking part in activities like picking up litter and planting trees, we’re making our city (and our world!) a happier, healthier place to live.

This year, use Earth Day to remind your kids and others how easy it is to make a difference. Here are eight activities you can participate in this Earth Day in Vancouver.

Sea Smart Earth Day Kits Beach Cleanup

To celebrate Earth Day, Sea SmartNADA and Surfrider have teamed up for the Sea Smart Earth Day Kits Beach Cleanup for a fun day of cleaning up our shorelines and getting to know each other. Participants are asked to wear closed-toe shoes and bring water, a hat, sunscreen, and reusable gloves. Organizers will have disposable gloves, buckets, and garbage pickers to collect the refuse.

When: Saturday, April 23rd at 10:00 AM
Where: Meet at the parking lot on Arbutus and McNicoll St. Look out for the Sea Smart tent so you can sign in on the day.
Admission: Free with registration here.
