Japan, Canada, and Spain to light up the sky at the 2022 Honda Celebration of Light

Celebration of Light Fireworks in English Bay

After a two-year absence, the unforgettable energy of the Honda Celebration of Light – the world’s longest-running offshore fireworks competition is set to return for its milestone 30th year with a thrilling line-up of pyrotechnic performances featuring teams from Japan, Canada, and Spain.

SATURDAY | JULY 23 – JAPAN – Akariya Fireworks
Akariya Fireworks strive for absolute safety, as much as the best performance. Akariya utilize quality control of products and tools, new technology usage, environmental protection, and employee training to manage the safety of their fireworks show. The team also took home 1st place in both the Honda Celebration of Light 2014 and 2017.

WEDNESDAY | JULY 27 – CANADA – Midnight Sun Fireworks
Midnight Sun Fireworks is an award-winning team of Yukon Pyrotechnicians; passionate about creating unique shows that bring life to the music in their soundtracks. Their playful displays are full of surprises and creative expression that will surely captivate you.

SATURDAY | JULY 30 – SPAIN – Pirotecnia Zaragozana
Founded in 1860, Pirotecnia Zaragozana is one of the most awarded companies in Spain. Since then, the tradition transmitted generation to generation, combined with constant innovation, have made Pirotecnia Zaragozana synonymous, throughout the world, with prestigious, safe, and quality shows.

 

Other Features

At 10:00 p.m. each night the fireworks will begin from barges located in English Bay. Music simulcast can be heard on The Breeze 104.3 FM and Z 95.3 FM. The winning team will be announced on Tuesday, August 2nd.

The event also welcomes back the Red Bull Air Show, a spectacular pre-show performance happening on all three festival nights, and on Wednesday, July 27th we are delighted to have the iconic Canadian Snowbird team back to perform their formation flyovers at English Bay.

Attendees can reserve a seat with exclusive VIP and family-friendly viewing options with the best seats in the house! Limited seats are available for the three ticketed viewing locations: Scotiabank Lounge, Concord Lounge at the Inukshuk, and the English Bay Grandstand. For those interested in hosting private groups with the best views of the barges, there are VIP private cabanas and larger group hosting patio spaces available to rent.
