The former farm fields of Colony Farm Regional Park are now a picturesque park and wildlife habitat. Walk the trails, go for a bike ride, watch for wildlife, and lots more at this Coquitlam park.

How to Get to Colony Farm Regional Park

By car: From Vancouver, go east on Highway 1. Take exit 44 onto Lougheed Highway. A few minutes later, turn right onto Colony Farm Road into the park and follow it to its end at the main parking lot.

On transit: Take the Skytrain to Coquitlam Central Station. Catch the 169 bus to the Cape Horn and Colony Farm Road stop. Cross Lougheed Highway at the crosswalk, then walk into the park.

Tips for Visiting

  • Visit the park website and use the park map to plan your trip.
  • The park gate opens at 7 a.m. each day and closes in the early evening. Closing times vary with the season. Check opening hours on the park website so you don’t get locked in.
  • Dogs must be on leash in the park to protect wildlife and are not allowed in the Wildlife Habitat Areas of the park.
  • Smoking, vaping, cannabis, drones, alcohol, and collecting plants are not allowed.
  • There are washrooms at the main parking lot.
  • Be safe in the park. AdventureSmart recommends bringing a backpack with essential safety and first aid gear on every hike. Check the forecast and pack extra clothing for the weather. Leave a trip plan so someone knows where you are going and when you will be back.

Go for a Bike Ride

The park includes nine kilometres of cycling trails and connects to the Traboulay Poco Trail, which makes a 25 km loop around Port Coquitlam. The crushed gravel bike paths are flat, making them perfect for families. Heads up: some cycling paths in the park are currently closed. See the park website and in-park signs for more info.

Many of the gravel trails in Colony Farm Regional Park are wheelchair accessible. The Home Farm Dyke Trail, Wilson Farm Dyke Trail, Mundy Creek Trail, and Garden Trail are all accessible, although some areas have uneven surfaces or brief sections of steep slopes that may be challenging for some users. See the park website for full details.

Go for a Hike

Walk the Labyrinth

Find the Colony Farm Regional Park labyrinth next to the Community Garden at the main park entrance. Walking a labyrinth is an ancient form of moving meditation, often used to focus the mind on a spiritual question or prayer.

Visit the Community Garden

The sprawling community garden is located near the park entrance. The organic garden brims with fresh vegetables and flowers each season. Walk the paths to admire the bounty, but please respect garden volunteers and do not pick anything.
