Vancouver is a gorgeous place to run. Sign up for one of these summer races, then run through parks, along the ocean, or around a lake.

 

RBC Race for the Kids

This family-friendly fun run in Queen Elizabeth Park raises money for the BC Children’s Hospital. With 2 km and 5 km options, there is a distance for everyone. The post-race festival in nearby Riley Park includes food trucks, live music, a photo booth, a bouncy castle, and a kids’ zone.

P&H Investment Services Longest Day Road Race

Take advantage of the evening sunshine at this race, which takes place on a Friday night at UBC. There are 5 km and 10 km courses as well as a kids’ mile. Stay for the post-race barbecue which includes live music and a beer garden. The race is a fundraiser for the Greater Vancouver Food Bank.

The Fathers’ Day Walk Run Vancouver

Grab your dad and sign up for the Fathers’ Day Walk Run, which supports Prostate Cancer BC. The 2023 edition is the 25th anniversary of the race, which includes 2 km, 5 km, and 10 km courses at Burnaby Lake.

Vancouver Half Marathon

This scenic half marathon follows Vancouver’s coastline starting at the University of British Columbia and finishing at the Museum of Vancouver in Vanier Park. The race also has a unique fundraising program that encourages participants to support a local charity of their choice.

VFAC Summerfast 10k

If you’re looking to set a personal best time, the VFAC Summerfast 10k is the race for you. The flat and fast course along the Stanley Park seawall will help you speed to the finish. Organized by the Vancouver Falcons Athletic Club, the race attracts passionate runners who train for speed. The community feeling continues after the race as participants snack on baked goods prepared by club members.

Vancouver Pride Run & Walk

Get your rainbow running gear ready, then register for the Vancouver Pride Run & Walk event. Choose from flat and fun 5 km or 10 km courses on the Stanley Park seawall. Stick around after the race to party at the Celebration Area at Second Beach. The race supports the Vancouver Pride Society and Health Initiative for Men (HIM).

Run Surrey Run

This race in Surrey’s Holland Park emphasizes fun and exercise over competition and seeks to bring the community of Surrey together. You can walk or run the 5 km or 10 km courses. The event raises money for the Surrey Hospitals Foundation, Big Sisters of the Lower Mainland, Canadian Blood Services, Options Community Services, the BC Cancer Foundation, and UNITI.
