If you’ve been to a few drag shows in Vancouver over the past five years there is a fairly significant chance that one of them was hosted, MC’d, and/or performed by Alma Bitches, her most imperial sovereign majesty, Emprex 48 of the Dogwood Monarchist Society.

Charity and community work have always been a focal point for Alma, having started their career in drag as a member of the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, a worldwide charity organization, almost 10 years ago. It was a natural progression for them to apply for election to the title of Emprex. Continue reading:

Recuperating from the Vancouver Pride Festival and feeling generous? Vancouver’s LGBTQ2+ community has a diverse range of groups, foundations, not-for-profits and charitable organizations devoted to education, fundraising and providing services for needs specific to our community. Many were created and evolved out of necessity, to address issues and provide services for people and situations that were not being addressed, or fully funded publicly.

Vancouver Men’s Chorus Sings for LGBTQ2+ Charities at St. Paul’s Church

As the year comes to a close and we look back at our behavior through the seasons, each and every one of us falls into either one of two categories: naughty or nice. At Christmas time there’s no denying our virtues (or lack thereof) because we know Santa Claus has been making that list. If you’re looking to repent through a boisterous sermon of song among a vaulted ceiling and stained glass, the Vancouver Men’s Chorus will be at the pulpit at St. Paul’s Anglican Church this December to sing to your fame and follies for all to hear. Don’t worry, you’re welcome either way.
