Lights at Lafarge the Free, Outdoor Winter Light Display is Back for another Dazzling Season

If you’ve already checked out Canyon Lights at the Capilano Suspension Bridge and you’ve got a craving for more fabulous light displays, Lafarge Lake in nearby Coquitlam is not going to disappoint. With these long, dark evenings of winter we need all the help we can get to make the nighttime shine!

Billed as Metro Vancouver’s largest, free outdoor light display, Lights at Lafarge is made up of hundreds of thousands of twinkling lights, will wrap itself entirely around the lake, taking you on a 1.2-kilometre loop. The lights are set up outside, so make sure to dress for the weather!

The extremely popular Canyon Lights Winter Lights Festival is coming back to the Capilano Suspension Bridge from November 22, 2018 to January 27, 2019.

This annual event is a favourite for locals and tourists alike, featuring thousands of lights decorating the park – transforming it into a world of festive lights and visual enchantment.

The big man is coming to downtown Vancouver on Sunday, December 2, 2018. Whether you’ve been naughty or nice this year, be sure to get some quality time in with Santa at the 15th annual Vancouver Santa Claus Parade!

The annual parade and food drive, which grows bigger each year, typically attracts around 300,000 spectators to downtown Vancouver for a full day of holiday festivities, including the signature parade that travels through the heart of the city.

The Vancouver Christmas Market transforms Jack Poole Plaza into a holiday wonderland.

Looking for something more festive than a mall Santa and a red Starbucks cup? The hotly-anticipated Vancouver Christmas Market is returning to Jack Poole Plaza in downtown Vancouver from November 21 – December 24th.

This authentic, European-inspired Christmas market is romantic, aromatic, and full of good food, drinks, and crafts. Based on the centuries-old tradition of Christkindlmarkts in Germany, the Vancouver Christmas Market brings an authentic pop-up village to the Jack Poole Plaza for the holiday season.

For 2018, the festive, family-favourite is back with more than 80 artisan huts full of sweets, treats, and treasures to enjoy – all with a glass of Glühwein (mulled wine) in hand!

Lights at Lafarge is the Largest Free Outdoor Light Display in the Lower Mainland

Just a quick trip out of the city will take you into a dazzling display of lights at the annual Lights at Lafarge installation set up by the City of Coquitlam.

Wander around the waters edge of Lafarge Lake for some fun this winter with the lights shining from November 25, 2017 until January 21, 2018. There will also be a special pre-lighting event on opening night (November 25th) to celebrate the return of the fantastic light display!

#VanKiss Mistletoe Popping up in Vancouver for the Holiday Season

What would the holidays be without a little mischief under the mistletoe? Mysterious sprigs of mistletoe are starting to pop up around the city with only a #VanKiss label on their bright red post.

This fun, annual tradition first began in 2013 when a group identified only as the “#VanKiss Elves” first tweeted about the smooching stations. Since then, several hundred kisses have been photographed and posted on social media.

The mistletoe is back for the 2016 holiday season, so we’re challenging you to take a selfie with your sweetheart at one (or all) of the 2016 locations!
