Where has the summer gone!? It seems like June just passed us by, but somehow we find ourselves in the middle of August. Have you been taking advantage of these sunny, hot days of summer?

The big finale of summer in Vancouver comes in the form of the Fair at the PNE, a summer tradition since 1910.

Highlights of this year’s Fair include the “hypnotizingly” amazing Reveen, an immersive “selfie photo” experience, a new star-studded lineup for the Summer Night Concerts series and the medieval-style Knights of Valour jousting show.

But, we all know what’s really the most important part of the PNE: the food! Along with the classic favourites of corn dogs, blooming onions, and everything you can possibly think of deep-fried, there’s some… interesting things… on the menu for PNE 2019!

2019 PNE Free Outdoor Concert Series Lineup Released with Rock Legends and 90’s Favourites

It may feel like summer is already here, but we still have a lot of long, hot days ahead of us until we reach the pinnacle of the summer season – the PNE.

There’s an excuse to get excited already with the release of the 2019 PNE Free Outdoor Concert Series lineup that was announced yesterday. The lineup is full of some legendary rockers and throwback favourites.

The concert series, which is free to attend with gate admission to the PNE, starts on August 17 and runs until September 2. All of the shows are outdoors and a rockin’ good time.

Super Soaker Sunday: Vancouver’s Largest Water Fight Taking Place in Stanley Park

It’s a fight to the drenched! Vancouver’s largest water fight will be making its return to Stanley Park this weekend on Sunday, August 13.

Organized by Flashmob Vancouver, the annual water fight has been taking place in Stanley Park for the last 11 years and the popularity continues to grow. Hundreds took part in the water war last year and with the heat wave rocking Vancouver – perhaps hundreds more will participate in 2017!

Sunday Funday: The Vancouver Food Truck Fest Kicks off June 28th!

It’s going to be a food truck frenzy this summer when Vancouver’s biggest celebration of street food returns on June 28th for the 4th Annual Vancouver Food Cart Fest. This year the festival has expanded to include more than just food! (Although there will still be TONS of food as well).

For 2015, Vancouver’s largest gathering of street food will also include more food trucks and expanded entertainment programming that includes a live-music patio and a giant ping pong area. The Vancouver Food Cart Fest is launching on June 28th and will run for 11 consecutive sundays until September 6th at the Olympic Village.

Victory Square Block Party 2014 Celebrates the End of Summer

The so-called “end of summer party” is happening on Sunday, August 31st at Victory Square Park (at Cambie and Hastings) in Downtown Vancouver featuring some of Vancouver’s most loved local talent.

Presented by Music Waste and CiTR 101.9 FM, the Victory Square Block Party has eight confirmed acts and 2 DJs to say goodbye to summer with this free, outdoor music festival.
