Vancouver International Wine Festival announces tickets and events

Mark this date in your new Moleskine: Jan 8. That’s the day tickets go on sale for the 2020 Vancouver International Wine Festival.

It’s the 42nd edition, for those keeping track. The eight-day celebration of wine and food runs Feb 22 to March 1 at the Vancouver Convention Centre and other venues around Metro Vancouver. 163 wineries are participating in 57 events. This year, the spotlight is on France, with 42 wineries from 10 regions in attendance.

Vancouver’s annual wine lovers’ delight, but dishwashers’ nightmare, is well underway. The 40th Vancouver International Wine Festival, which, according to keynote speaker Paul Wagner of California, is “the largest wine festival in the Western Hemisphere”, is in full swing around town. It’s a great week for wine and food lovers, but not so much for those who have to deal with 82,000 wine glasses by the time the festival wraps up on Sunday. To say nothing of countless plates, cups and cutlery.

Tickets are now on sale for the 38th annual Vancouver International Wine Festival. And this year’s spotlight country is one that you may have heard of in regards to wine – Italy.

This means that wines from different regions in the country will be the subject of seminars, dinners and other special events. Of course, wine from a number of other territories will be poured, sipped and savoured by the tens of thousands of oenophiles who flock to this popular event.
