Mark this date in your new Moleskine: Jan 8. That’s the day tickets go on sale for the 2020 Vancouver International Wine Festival.
It’s the 42nd edition, for those keeping track. The eight-day celebration of wine and food runs Feb 22 to March 1 at the Vancouver Convention Centre and other venues around Metro Vancouver. 163 wineries are participating in 57 events. This year, the spotlight is on France, with 42 wineries from 10 regions in attendance.
Find out more below.
The wine fest includes seminars, tastings, and parties as well as lunches, dinners and the Bacchanalia Gala Dinner + Auction. Browse public events online, click through the interactive Festival at a Glance PDF, or download the promotional brochure for full festival details, all found here.
Examples of some of the events include:
A Taste of Croatia—Sample some Croatian wines from four renowned winemakers paired with food from host restaurant Atlas Steak + Fish.
Ça, c’est cool—It’s a wine mingler in The Loft at Earl’s Yaletown. The wines are French (and chilled), the company mixed, the food “lite.”
California Crush—An annual favourite, California Crush features Cali wines plus acrobats, a DJ, and tapas.
