A birds-eye view of the Skookum Music Festival

Vancouver’s inaugural SKOOKUM Music Festival ended it’s epic three-day music, art, and food-filled weekend with a final show by everyone’s favourite rockers, The Killers.

Over 50,000 music lovers streamed into Stanley Park, braving weather that was less than perfect, to be captivated by more than 50 stage performances involving some of Canada and the world’s most renowned artists.

Headlining acts for 2018 included The Killers, Florence + The Machine, X-Ambassadors, The Arkells, and Mother Mother.

With more than 15,000 people attending the opening night on Friday and crowds of 18,500 and 17,000 on Saturday and Sunday, it’s safe to say that SKOOKUM was a huge success.

One of the most unique aspects of SKOOKUM was it’s central location in Stanley Park. Each day, hundreds of festival-goers walked, biked, and took shuttles into the festival grounds. The Bike Valet even parked around 1,700 bikes in one evening – a new record for them!

Event organizers will soon return to the Vancouver Park Board and Local First Nations, seeking a multi-year agreement that will see the festival return in 2019.
