Lumiere, an annual event inspired by light and artistic expression, returns this November

Kicking off on Friday, November 2nd, Lumiere will light up three iconic Vancouver sites with a series of interactive art installations. In the span of three nights, English bay, Jim Deva Plaza and šxʷƛ̓ənəq Xwtl’e7énḵ Square, formerly known as the North Plaza of the Vancouver Art Gallery, will feature 17 public artworks showcasing music and light art.

Created by local and international artists, the artworks will help to inspire and intrigue by allowing the public to interact and play with the light installations. New this year, Lumiere will help celebrate the arrival of Daylights Savings Time by expanding to the šxʷƛ̓ənəq Xwtl’e7énḵ Square with with seven interactive displays.

Public Disco, an organization that transforms public spaces into a pop-up party, will return to light up Davie Village on Saturday November 3 for a night of music and dancing. Expect a lineup of local DJ’s, hundreds of disco balls and a variety of immersive art works.
