This Friday, Nov. 22, the Vancouver Art Gallery (750 Hornby St.) presents another edition of its art party FUSE. Guests will be able to take in performances and installations, some specially created for this event, along with ongoing exhibitions like Cindy Sherman. Find out more below.
Organizers are calling this edition the event FUSE: Resonances. The idea, they say, is “to awaken guests to a new consciousness around the radical presence of the body, language, and sound. Participating artists look to performance as a tool through which to consider an undoing of past, a positioning of the present, and visions of a collective future.”
Performers include local and visiting artists Raven Chacon, Elisa Harkins, Ralph Escamillan, Mike Bourscheid and Kapwatids (Kimmortal, Elysse Cloma, and Joshua Ongcol).
Also part of FUSE: Resonances is FUSE x CURRENT Art Bar, a showcase of emerging electronic artists and musicians. Expect performances and installations that include “the manipulation of public space” to explore “socially conscious narratives,” an immersive literary and visual installation, and “an amorphous musical project.”
