Eight Egg-celent Easter Egg Hunts in Vancouver this Weekend

‘Tis the season of collecting chocolate eggs! If you’re in the mood for chasing out some chocolate, “hop” on down to any of these egg-celent Easter egg hunts happening this weekend in Vancouver and the Lower Mainland.

There are several happening around the city, including several at local community centres, but we’ve pulled out the top eight for Easter 2016! The events offer some great family fun for children and adults alike.

Vancouver

Stanley Park Easter Train

Hop on the Stanley Park Train for an egg-citing Easter ride through Stanley Park. After the train ride, kids can enjoy hunting for eggs, playing games, making bunny ears, getting their face painted, meeting the Easter Bunny, and much more!

  • When: March 19 to 28, from 10am – 5pm (last egg hunt is at 4:30pm)
  • Cost: Child – includes up to two guardians for $13.75, additional adults cost $6

VanDusen Botanical Garden

Kids will enjoy six different outdoor hunt areas, meeting the Easter Bunny, fun activities, chocolate treats, and much more! You’ll be provided with a basket and an event map when you arrive, and after participating in the activities, make sure to explore the 55-acre botanical garden with your family – your egg hunt tickets include free entry to the entire garden!

Yaletown Roundhouse Easter Egg Hunt

Hippity Hoppity down to the Roundhouse for an Easter Egg Hunt. The event will include an egg hunt with arts & crafts activities, a candy bag to take home and a visit from the Easter Bunny! No need to bring a basket, as you can make one with the arts & crafts activities.

Burnaby

Grandparent and Family Easter Egg Hunt

This event encourages families and grandparents to get in on the Easter fun. Make an egg basket, decorate traditional Easter eggs, and go on a hunt around the Bosnor 55+ Centre.

Easter at Lonsdale Quay

This easter egg hunt is a little more tricky than others! Hunt down each of the five different coloured eggs to win an Easter treat bag including a hot cross bun and lots of candy. After the hunt, enjoy cookie decorating, a craft table, face painting, balloon sculptures, and a visit from the Easter bunny!

  • When: Sunday, March 27 starting at 10am (while supplies last)

Easter at the Cannery

A fun-filled weekend with games, crafts, activities and of course, the annual Easter Salmon (?!) scavenger hunt, all inside the historic Gulf of Georgia Cannery National Historic Site.  Throughout the day from 10am to 5pm, there will be activities suitable for kids ages 2 to 12 years old, with an Easter Salmon (egg) hunt starting every 30 minutes. All Easter hunt participants will receive an Easter treat for their efforts!

  • When: Saturday, March 26 and Sunday, March 27

Easter Fair at the Surrey Museum

A typical Easter egg hunt throughout the Surrey museum, but this one includes lots of animals! There will be local rescue animals as well as a special guest appearance by the Vancouver Rabbit Agility Club! Watch rabbits perform cool tricks and daring feats of bunny athleticism!
