Vancouver Convention Centre awarding a 10-out-of-10 Vancouver Experience with 10th Anniversary Contest ‘Convention Quest’
How would you like to spend a day treated to a VIP Vancouver experience, starting with travel from wherever you are in the province of BC to a day filled with locally-flavoured excitement, fine dining and one of the biggest sporting matches hitting the city this summer?
Residents from across British Columbia – from Castlegar to Parksville to Burnaby – are invited to take part in Convention Quest, a digital scavenger hunt set within the Vancouver Convention Centre’s website that tasks participants to answer 10 questions about its history through 10 years of bringing people together through meetings since opening the West building in April 2009.
One lucky British Columbian and a guest will be awarded a comprehensive behind-the-scenes tour of the iconic West building, a catered meal from the Convention Centre’s award-winning culinary team, two tickets to see the Canada Men’s National Rugby Team take on the United States at BC Place on September 7, 2019 finished with a night stay at a downtown Vancouver hotel in celebration of the 10th anniversary of the Convention Centre’s West building.
“This is a milestone year for the Vancouver Convention Centre, and we want to celebrate with the entire province,” said Craig Lehto, General Manager. “With this contest, British Columbians can learn more about our history and the tremendous positive impact events held here have had on our communities, while also providing a platform to share ideas on how we can continue being successful in the future.”
The contest launches Thursday, July 4, 2019 and will run until Friday, August 9, 2019 and will also offer several additional prizes for participants. Winners will be announced on August 14, 2019. The complete prize list includes:
- Grand Prize: One winner and a guest will receive a VIP Vancouver Convention Centre experience, including transportation and a one-night stay at a downtown Vancouver hotel, a private behind-the-scenes tour of the iconic West building, dinner at LOT185 Café + Wine Bar, and two tickets to see the Canada Men’s National Rugby Team vs the United States at BC Place on September 7, 2019.
- Silver Prize: One winner will receive two round-trip tickets for a V2V Vacations Vancouver to Victoria day trip (valid through October 31, 2019), and a one-night stay at a hotel in Victoria, BC.
- Bronze Prize: Eight winners will receive a pair of complimentary tickets to a consumer show or public event held at the Vancouver Convention Centre of their choice and gift card to LOT185.
With the addition of the West building in 2009 that tripled the facility’s capacity, the Convention Centre has welcomed over 9 million guests from around the world and generated over $2.4 billion in direct spending for British Columbia over the past decade. The 5,561 events range from major city-wide conventions, including the renowned TED Conference and SIGGRAPH computer graphics conference to consumer and trade shows, private meetings, banquets and fundraisers, community events, special events, public celebrations, and film and TV shoots.

Convention Quest General Rules & Regulations
This contest is open to all residents of British Columbia over the age of 19 excluding employees of PavCo and relatives or partners to employees of PavCo.
By providing a submission to the Convention Quest contest, entrants will have agreed to share their name and contact information with the Vancouver Convention Centre for use only relating to contest purposes.
The contest begins on Thursday, July 4, 2019 at 8 am PST and will close on Friday, August 9, 2019 at 11:59 pm PST. You will receive one (1) entry in the contest if you correctly respond to the ten questions provided. Limit (1) entry per person during the contest period.
On Wednesday, August 14, 2019, 10 eligible entrants will be selected by random draw from all successful eligible entries received during the contest period. The winners drawn will then be notified via email or phone.
