The festivities for the parade will begin at the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver for Breakfast with Santa (held from 8:30 – 10:30 am with reservations required) and two hours of free family activities from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at Christmas Square in front of the Vancouver Art Gallery.

At noon, the parade will begin at Georgia Street and Broughton, before travelling east on Georgia to Howe, turning south, and finishing at Howe and Davie.

Featuring over 2,500 participants who will be playing music, waving to the crowd, and handing out free goodies, it will certainly be a sight to see!

Each year, the parade attracts upwards of 300,000 spectators, so make sure you snag a spot on the parade route early!

Breakfast with Santa

If you were intrigued by the Breakfast with Santa option mentioned above, you can register online to join a delicious breakfast buffet and exclusive meet & greet with Santa before the parade. Children will have an opportunity to sit with Santa and confide their Christmas wish list before he presides over the festive parade at noon. The buffet will include a chef-attended pancake and waffle station, a hot chocolate station, and activities for children. To reserve a spot, simply call 604-647-0517. (More information)

Photo opportunities with Santa

From 2 to 4 pm, anyone can drop by the TELUS Garden building (510 West Georgia) for free photos with Santa, along with hot chocolate and cookies and other activities for families. (More information)

The parade will also be supporting two great charities, the Greater Vancouver Food Bank and CKNW Kids’ Fund. Since 2004, the Vancouver Santa Claus Parade has helped raise more than $214,000 and 76,500 lbs of food for the Food Bank and Lower Mainland families in need.

Not able to attend the event?

Santa will be streaming on tv! Broadcast times of the parade are still being worked out, but it will air live on Global BC and BC 1 channels.
