We’ve had quite a month full of fantastic local art! Earlier this month we were treated to the always excellent Eastside Culture Crawl and now, the Emily Carr Student Art Sale is on the horizon.
Now in its 46th year (wow!), the Emily Carr Student Art Sale is a fun way of seeing some of the amazing talent coming out of the local art school. Last year was the most successful student art sale yet, so let’s make this year’s even better – shall we?
Hosted at the Emily Carr campus in Vancouver from Friday, November 29th until Sunday, December 1st, the art sale features hundreds of original artwork that is affordable.
What makes the Emily Carr Student Art Sale so special is the idea that you may be purchasing a piece of art from an amazing up-and-coming artist who may eventually cause quite the commotion in the art scene. Not only that, but you will be helping to support local artists to do what they love!
Throughout the space, you’ll find paintings, photos, prints, ceramics, sculptures, design works, housewares, zines, cards – and more!
The sale runs from noon to 8pm on Friday Nov. 29, and from noon until 5pm on Saturday Nov. 30 and Sunday Dec. 1.
This year’s sale includes artwork from close to 200 students, which means there is something for everyone! Collectors, art lovers and the art-curious stand shoulder-to-shoulder as they view the offerings of art by up-and-coming students. Last year more than 4,000 individuals came to Emily Carr University for the Student Art Sale.
By the way, admission to the sale is free!
