42nd Vancouver International Wine Festival (Feb 22-Mar 1)

Red wine is apparently good for us, so it’s fitting that this year’s featured region at Vancouver International Wine Festival is France, home of Bordeaux and Burgundy reds, as well as flavourful whites and—of course—Champagne. The VIWF is Canada’s premier wine show and widely considered to be one of the best wine events in the world.  The festival also raises funds for the Bard on the Beach Theatre Society, host of another beloved Vancouver festival. Get your tickets here, and hurry as many of the festival’s events are selling out quicker than you can say “merci”!

Dash for Dogs (Feb 23)

Participate in a 10k, 5k, or 2k guided walk/run through Stanley Park in support of BC and Alberta Guide Dogs. After the run enjoy a social event with pancakes, prizes and live music. Dogs are welcome, provided they are leashed and friendly towards other dogs and the working guide dogs that are present at the event. Click here for more info or to register for Dash for Dogs.
