Anyone else wondering how it’s already almost September? I definitely am! Here’s my roundup of some great ways to keep active and well in Vancouver. There’s something for everyone, so be sure to check these great events out!

VeloSpoke Bike Expo (Sep 7) / RBC Gran Fondo Whistler (Sep 8)

Calling all cyclists – get ready to see the latest and greatest in cycling gear and technology! The VeloSpoke Bike Expo is back in Vancouver, just in time to prep you for one of the best Gran Fondos in the world: the RBC Gran Fondo Whistler! September 7 is pick-up day and September 8 is race day. From leafy Stanley Park, Vancouver, riders cross the iconic Lions Gate bridge to travel along the world-famous, beautiful Sea-to-Sky highway as it dips itself in the Pacific ocean before rising slowly up to the lofty perch of Whistler. Siyaflo Health Series: FEED YOUR MIND (Sep 9)

Siyaflo Health Series hosts its 3rd event in Vancouver on Sunday September 9th! It’s back to school so it’s time to focus on your minds. The morning will include a fusion of hatha and kundalini yoga + meditation to focus the mind and body; plus networking and an urban contemporary dance class that’ll make you think (in a good way!) Food. Beer. Yoga. (Sep 14)

Love Beer? Love Food? Love Yoga? This is the event for you (and me!), and the perfect way to start the weekend. Celebrate the last nights of summer with True NOSH Kitchen & Studio at a special night curated with local breweries, musicians, yogis and food vendors! Under Armour Eastside 10k (Sep 15)

The Under Armour Eastside 10k, part of the Canada Running Series, is a 10k race through the historic east side of Vancouver.  Recognized by Get Out There magazine as Western Canada’s best race in 2013, this race goes through parts of Gastown, Chinatown, and East Vancouver. With a Gastown/Strathcona course, runners can expect a heritage/industrial feel to things, and get to run along sections of the city that are rarely closed off to traffic. To register, click here.

Grouse Grind Mountain Run (Sep 15)

“Run” up the Grouse Grind as fast as you can at the Grouse Grind Mountain Run! This Vancouver classic is the true test of your season’s training. Whether you are coming out to beat the current course record, or to just enjoy the trail, this is an excellent celebration of the end of the summer hiking season. For more information, click here.

UNITE Yoga Beach Party & Meditation (Sep 15)

Meet your Tribe! Featuring music, meditation, yoga, picnic, and play, the UNITE crew invites you to a day of raising humanity’s vibration. It’ll be a day of summer fun and connection, all at Vancouver’s spectacular Spanish Banks Beach. Bring anything you need for the ultimate beach day, including your friends and smile! Canuck Place Adventure Race (Sep 16)

The Canuck Place Adventure Race is a unique and scenic challenge for everyone that brings critical care to Canuck Place. Experience the best of the west coast featuring a 15 km mountain bike and 6 km trail run, as well as a fun obstacle course. You can take on the race as an individual participant or form a team (group or relay).

Have little ones? Kids can enjoy the Canuck Place Adventure race in their own custom course that includes a 3 km bike ride, 2 km trail run, followed by their own obstacle course! All proceeds from this event support over 715 Canuck Place children with life-threatening illnesses and their families all across BC. To register, and for more info, click here.

2018 SeaWheeze (Sep 22)

lululemon’s SeaWheeze Half Marathon is a 21.1km (13.1 miles) race of breathtaking scenery, salty ocean air, high fives and Vancouver vibes. When you arrive in the city, you’ll pick up your runner’s package in beautiful Coal Harbour at the Vancouver Convention Centre. While you’re there, be sure to grab some SeaWheeze exclusive swag at the pop-up store, then get the weekend started with a yoga session at the PreWheeze bash. SeaWheeze Sunset Festival (Sep 22)

If you’re like me and running isn’t your jam, check out the SeaWheeze Sunset Festival – the official after party of the half marathon! Held in Stanley Park, what better way to cap off a wild and crazy weekend than by dancing in nature to the tune of an ocean breeze and some killer bands. The festival will feature Diplo, Felix Cartal, yoga with Janet Stone (featuring music by DJ Drez). Get your tickets here.

Après OM (Weekly)

Après Om is a weekly public yoga gathering, hosted by Faculty Brewing, offered on Saturday mornings by a collective of yoga teachers keen on developing community by pairing their craft with post-yoga connection through conversation. Mats and Faculty beverage are provided. Doors open at 9am, class starts at 9:30am sharp. Partial proceeds go to yoga training scholarship fund with Blacksmith Yoga Community. Click here to register.
