Ali Larter

We may be coming close to the end of the year and the holiday season, which may mean a lot of productions are either going to be calling it a wrap or going on hiatus soon.

But in the never-ending flow of Vancouver’s screen scene, a couple of new shows are actually starting up this week.

In fact, two new series—a supernatural horror-revenge thriller set in 1990s Los Angeles and a sci-fi mystery about an alien pretending to be a human—are just getting started.

Meanwhile, a number of Hollywood and Canadian stars are finishing up a feature thriller elsewhere in B.C.

Here’s a quick look at the comings and goings of screen productions around town and the province.

To start things off, a brand new TV series hits the streets of Vancouver.

The series shot its pilot back in October 2018 and was greenlit in February to become a full series.

Sara Tomko

This sci-fi TV series, based on a Dark Horse comic, follows an alien, played by Alan Tudyk (Doom Patrol), who crash lands on Earth. After he assumes the identity of a smalltown doctor on Colorado, he integrates himself into human society.

But as he continues on his secret mission and with government agents on his tail, he begins to wonder whether or not humankind is worth saving.

Corey Reynolds

Among the cast are also Sara Tomko, Corey Reynolds, Alice Wetterlund, and Levi Fiehler.

The premiere date is yet to be announced.
